Do you want to know a secret? My husband started his first company venture back in 2013. A whole year and a half before I started mine. Unfortunately he was focusing on college and a brand new baby so his company did not survive.
Now, he’s trying again. This time with more focus, identity in who he wants to serve and passion for what he wants to do. And this wife could not be more proud!
There is a lot to consider when someone moves away from working for someone else, there’s even more to consider when there is already one entrepreneur in the family and there are kids to support. It’s also scary.
That’s where I’m at right now. Scared and proud of him for wanting to take the leap and follow his dreams. One thing I do to mitigate the fear of not having the stability in a “real” job is to set goals and steps for us to be at to ease into both of us supporting our family.
I’m using my goal setting Lara Casey Powersheets and this is what I’m focusing on answering right now:
– health insurance
– basic bills we can downsize
– passive income streams
– how to meet monetary goals with an unstable income
– who can we learn from in this venture
– how to keep our marriage together during the stressful times
At the end of all the fear, I know two things. One, we are not defined by our success as entrepreneurs and if we have to get a job outside of our businesses to support our family, we can and two, as a married couple, this is something that can either bring us together or pull us apart.
When I focus on goals and reaching attainable objects through which I am capable of doing, the fear and the doubt fades. This quest to sustain ourselves has so much good in it and that will come out of it, our goal will be reached.
